Hi guys, I wanted to take my five years old for his first fishing trip around Edmonton area this spring. Anywhere within an hour or would be nice. Any suggestion?

Cardiff Pind by Morinville is a nice spot to take a kid. lots of shore fishing and has a nice park in case he gets bored and doesn't want to fish anymore.

Star Lake is an easy fish off shore, as long as you don't mind fighting the crowd at times. Rainbow trout. Good for kids though as they can run around if fishing is slow.

And the NSR is hard to beat at times. Lots of Goldeye and Walleye - use pickerel style rigs with minnows or worms.

X2 on Cardiff. There's usually a trout willing to bite a worm under a float there.

Hermitage trout pond very kid friendly, so is beaumont trout pond. Beaumont even has a water park right beside it. Cardiff, and Veg ponds good for kids. NSR is very handy.
Also depends on age of kids and if you have a boat or not.
