Back bays once the season is open and the ice is out of the bay's. Great pike fishing and even better walleye fishing.
Water is murky so silver Xraps or spoons seem to be the go too lures.
One day my son and I stopped counting after 100 landed pike, barbless for catch and release non stop, you got about two weeks of frenzy fishing or so then they hit the big body of water and are harder to target.

Dark solid colours show up best in stained water.mfish the North end of the lake is someone the bay's up there or long bay by the provincial park. Black is a personal favorite colour of mine in murky water

Good info here. IMO if you're looking for numbers, Long bay will be your best bet. If you're looking for bigger fish I would recommend French bay. Good luck.

I've heard of 48'' plus Northerns been caught in that lake. I can't help but wonder the beasts that lurk in that big lake. Big Water = Big Fish.

Need a little flash or splash of silver but then again we have caught them on other colours too, point is dont sit on one technique nor Color or your day may be long and boring!

My plan is to troll the cabbage ripping big silver Lucky Strike spoons. I've had great success on other bodies of water for large Pike doing this. Always find big Pike laying in the tall cabbage. Especially in the heat of summer.

Spring pike in Cold Lake are plentiful. The points on either end of French bay will produce big girls, 5-10 fow. I find rattlin raps and mepps spinners to be the hottest tickets. a great day on cold lake would be pike fishing the points from 7am-11am then move deeper 40-65 fow ( not deep for cold lake but it's spring) and hit spring lakers. U can troll spoons or quickfish and have success from about 12pm-4pm then back to pike from dinner till dusk. Great body of water that lake.
