Its a very tough place to fish, smelts is the best bet. Im not sure if you can use minnows there, I dont think so you best check on that. The lakers are small, there is some good ones in there they dont seem to show up until the spring. Go in at least 50 feet of water if you have a Vexlar it will help you alot, they bite very light in the deep water its hard to see the bite and set the hook. good luck Dave

Try white jigs with 1/2 smelt on it. I caught a 5 lber monday. The bite is early or later in the day. I'm only fishin 30-40', its where the bigger ones come to feed. Heard from a good source a week ago a large laker was caught in about 8' of water, cruising the shallows looking for whitefish

True story I bet for sure, same as spray....but that takes a lot of luck or a lot of time looking :) I know personally an old friend that caught a 15 lber from there 3 years ago, and he released it.
