3 of us are going to Cold Lake for a few days. We have never fished this lake, and none of us has ever fished for lakers. Baptism by fire I guess. Any tips? Troll speed, depth, habitat they stick to? Any advice about lakers, or Cold Lake in general would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

How is the launch out there? Is the water low out there too?
What is the marina out there like? Is there shore power?

We landed 2 little guys with Kurt505's help. We couldn't keep them, but we did catch lakers, and learn some technique. Thanks Kurt!!!

We were out Sunday and Monday. The marina was good. We are told the water is low, we had never been there so I have no idea. We did launch a 25+ foot pontoon boat with absolutely no issues.

I'm glad I could help you out. Now you know the secret hook I'm sure you'll hammer them next time out.

JR, Willowtrail is doing great out there, he's been teasing me with updates on a regular basis.

Well, I used to use an anchovy rig but then the top secret hook was catching 4 or 5 to one, so now no more stinky fingers and always hooking fish.

Anchovie rigs only come out when the super secret lure can't be revealed!

Thanks Kurt, I'm curious but won't reveal mine, so I wouldn't expect you to either.

If it's working for you, that's all that matters. I'm sure there's a few dozen secret lures for lakers when they're hungry lol!

The lake is down for sure. Probably a vertical foot or 2.

We have 14 together per day. Only one legal one so far but by no means a monster. Caught it jigging.

The secret weapons are working. The poplar fuzz sucks

Anyone else still out here? Here till Monday, girlfriend booked us in for 3 more nights. Woot woot
