Okay guys. I hear that Big Lake is a bit of a bust.

Is there anywhere between Spruce Grove and the West End that has some decent fishing? My sister lives in Winterburn and we'd like to find a lake nearby that we can head out to in the evenings and maybe catch a few fish. Don't even care what kind of fish it is as long as it tugs on the line.

Cardiff Pond was suggested to me. Any others? Pointers for access and fishing the lakes would be appreciated.

East Pit lake is not bad. It's stocked with Trout only. Has lots of small jumping fish as it was just stocked. I used a small red and gold spoon last Wednesday and cought about 10, all released back. It's north of Wabamun lake and has a great view to spend an early evening fishing.

Chickakoo is decent. Trout dough power bait works pretty good there.
