Hey peoples,, we are thinking of hitting Badger sometime this weekend and being that I have never fished this water before I was hoping to get a little insight on the lake. I do not need specifics but jast a stear in the right direction would be great.

What part of the lake would I find some nice long shallow bays say with anywheres from 12 - up to 5 feet of water. Any ledges say that have fast drop offs from 15" to shallows like 8" ??

Again not lookin for your secret hole just a stear in the right direction..

Thx...

I might be heading out there as well. Lots of people fish the North end by the islands. Not to many long shallllow bays in this lake. I usually fish the south portion of the lake.

We made it out yesterday as well. Didn't do great but we did manage a few. We were able to put 5 Pike on the ice nun were the big 20 ponder we were hoping for but they were all pretty solid fish. I would say the biggest would of been in the 8# range with the rest ranging 5 - 6 pounds. Never put a tape to any of them as we got a couple quick picks and they were all sent back.. In total we probably had a good 10 bites that we had to rebate for so it wasn't like it was a dead day.

So I feel we did not bad considering this was our first trip out to the lake. The topo maps that Coulee sent were a big help and with a little common sense we were able to get on them. It did take a while to settle into a spot that we felt comfortable with but once we did it it was good action.

But I will add that it ended up being an expensive day for me... During some of our exploration around the lake I unknowingly ended up in a shallow spot and ran the auger into the rocks  . not pretty at all. I was able to stop it in time and it looks like the blade is alright but the centre chisel got it a bit I think I can tune it up with the dremel tool but the two claws ( run a 10' Jiffy STX ) are pretty much broke to nothing.. So no big deal I will have to replace them but where to find them in Medicine Hat,, hoping that either C.T. or the Outdoorsman may have them if not she's off to Lethbridge and Whole sale Sports for a set.. I need them because I am taking all next week off to fish so need the auger..

Thx for the info guys it helped out a bunch..

Here are a couple pics.
