Fish Thief is at Maligne Lake

Wow what a high from catching lots of trout to the low of losing one to a thief

my son Nathan and I had him follow us around the lake opening weekend

he was eyeing our fish every time we caught one

he is pretty easy to spot as he is bald

went up last weekend too with Kris and he(eagle) stole one Rainbow off me

I have 5 witnesses too the fact

was going to call Mike the Warden and complain

Maligne Lake was hot for fishing so Tim and I went yesterday

the thief was back and Tim had to yell at him as he brought in his fish

wow I hate thief's when fishing

The Thief was Mr Bald Eagle

nothing the Warden could do as he has rights too

as a Angler I have had a Sea Gull and Muskrat but this was my first Eagle

the fight was 5 seconds as the line broke at hook

be careful out there fish Thief's watching and waiting for the right moment

Boom fish lost in a second

I had the opportunity to have both a rainbow and an osprey on my line at one time. I was persistent and landed a 14 inch fish with punctures to his back.

Great story.... Always good to hear about our kids and nature. Now on a serious note don't call the Ranger and report the eagle stole your trout, he could charge you with feeding wildlife, LOL

Eagle got it in-between 3 jump n fourth never did make 4 about at backing when he hit so close to the boat of young guys that I was leading down lake in trolling waters close to shore as they didn't have a fish finder even the canoe guys saw the attack as they follow there buddy's .. all 4 guys saw it all ..then it flew away with my Rainbow as it went into my backing I gave a tug and the line broke ..the Eagle never missed a wing beat ..was a mile further down lake n got a nice 2# + Rainbow when he showed up again but Kris called out Eagle is here .. then I stuck fly rod into water too hold trout down as Eagle pasted within 10 feet of boat.. guess I did win one as I landed that one and released it too.. thanks all
