View Full Version : Lund SSV Project
Just wanted to start a new thread on my experience customizing my Lund SSV 16. This is my first boat other than a canoe so every thing is new to me and found very little info on the SSV series.
So far I have installed 4 seats using kingpins and stainless bases, Added a kicker, Installed a sonar / transducer, scotty rod holders, navigation lights, scotty downrigger, and moved the fuel and power line.

Looks great, did you have to buy a specific humminbird mount to work with the Scotty holder ? I was looking at a ram mount for my new fishfinder but this looks cool. I wonder how much weight they are good for cause mines a bit bigger than yours.
nope, had to make a small plate for the gimbal bracket to fit.
well i received a message on youtube asking why I did not use the conduit that lund has running under the seats...... well I had no idea there was any and after an hour I got every thing re routed and the end product is way better. wish I had known about this in the first place.

Like I said my hoses were installed by the dealer. Figured it was just custom work from them .

Looks really good, great job. I found a nice little rubber adhesive pad and put it under the tiller so it wouldn't get beat up by the back splash tray . I can post a picture of it in the morning.

:sign0087: Nice job guys. The SSV is a great platform to work with and 16' is an ideal size. Lot of satisfaction riggin it yourself. I had all kinds of plans for my 14'er but it just wasn't big enough. I miss having a tiller.
Keep us updated.

Reminds me of the good old days fishing Nootka Sound out of a 14' Lund. I went completely around Nootka Island 3 seperate times in that boat. Life was so simple back then.

First class all the way.
Never a bad investment putting money into a Lund, that hull will last you many many years.

ordered it from iboats.com and had my old man pick it up at the boarder.

Nice job.
Good job on the boat. Fish on!
well, we decided to upgrade to powered downriggers this winter. The manuals were great but was a bit of a pain when fighting fish having two guys in the back, one with a rod and another winding up the DR.
We were lucky and found a sale with 20% off all scotty products. I ended up moving the fuel tank and battery forward to under the split bench seats to get the weight off the ass end. The boat is balanced a lot better now.

Can I ask you where you got those tabs with the zip straps?
I assume there is an adhesive on the back, is it holding up?
Nice, clean looking set up.

Home Depot in the electrical section. Yep, self adhesive and they are actually holding up well being wet. The only one that came off was from a wire being pulled.
well, the lund project is finally done. Finished it off with sides and a front. Very happy with the finished project.

If you decide to run both motors off the same tank a simple T in the fuel line then off to each motor. Had that system on my old Crestliner for yrs and worked great.

That's the exact boat I've been looking for. Good job! How well does it handle with 4 adults in it and only 30horse?
