Planning a trip to upper K this weekend. Anybody know if it is ice free yet? Can a boat be launched?

Ice has been off for a long time know. well over a month

I'm going to be up that way camping this weekend. Has anyone been having success casting from shore? I'll be there with my 6 year old so a couple hours of fishing may be all that I get in.

I was thinking of trying Kamloopers from shore, any other ideas are very much appreciated.

It can be VERY windy...watch the weather forecast and use common sense, but it is totally doable
