View Full Version : What type of fish?

Hey guys and gals, was just fishing in northern Saskatchewan and found this fish laying dead in a shallow bay. There was 4 more of the same fish in a school that swam away when we boated up to investigate the dead one. Has a body like some sort of white fish but has a mouth like a carp or sucker. Anybody know what it is??

Lots of different species of suckers. Sask regs used to have a fish ID section in the back which might help you.

lol probably one of the types of redhorse suckers, whether it had red on it or not..

Pretty sure it's an Inconnu, caught a few in the mckenzie River nwt.

It's not an Inconnu. 122575. This is a pic on a Inconnu I caught in Lake LaBerge, Yukon. Inconnu aren't this far South - none in the NSR system.

The picture above looks like a Whitefish.

You could be right.... Just so you know it wasn't caught in the NSR.... It was caught in northern sask.

Thanks guys. We guessed it to be a little over 5 lb. stunk to bad to actually weigh. Lol never seen one up there before and it was way bigger and a diff mouth then the smaller whitefish I've caught by red deer before.
