Anyone been to Bear Pond this year? I know it's usually slow fishing...just wondering if they're still alive? It winter kills kinda often.

Haven't been there myself yet, but talked to a few who have. Fish are fine - no winterkill. There was some work done to the dam area in May, so some heavier equipment was used at the lake. Not sure what was done, but I hear it is now finished. Expect the trail and the dam area to be a little different now.

Was up there about 2 weeks ago. No winterkill that I saw, and there were quite a few fish jumping.

The trail in is muddy from heavy equipment going up there to work on it.

lots of little fish there, 12"ish. any smaller fly under a bobber will work.

Thanks fellas. Robin has never even heard of a grayling...had to google up a pic for her. Got a big trip north this summer and thinking about running her up to Bear in the middle of a mountain trip. I'm on a serious Fishin mission for the next 5 weeks. I've even convinced her to climb a mountain for a golden. Should be a crap load of fun. :medium-smiley-035::medium-smiley-035:

Been there 4 times since Hwy 532 opened on May 1st; fishing has been great since day 1; average about 12" in size. Once you find the right fly and presentation/retrieve, it's fairly constant action.
