Not sure what the biggest cot is.....but are you using a queen size bed for yourself alone? Wouldnt a twin size be a lot better?

no the wife "needs me" lol. I was just looking at "Cam-o-cot" bunk beds, have you heard of them. they say 400lbs to one level. maybe an option.

Interesting....I'll keep my eyes open for what else might work. Never seen them myself but I'll look at your other post...

I dont' have pics but my buddy has a good set up. He has some plywood boxes and a platform in the back of his truck, it's covered with carpet and good enough to sleep on in the truck by the way. So when he gets to camp he takes out the platform and sets it up on the same boxes that it sits on in the truck....him and his wife can sleep comfy in the yurt with the fire going strong.

Trust me guys if you ever want your wife/family to go outdoors with you, ya gotta keep them warm and comfy.

So the trick to getting her to stay at home would be "cold and lumpy" eh?.....

Gotcha...not to sideline this thread, but I am looking for plans to build a bed smaller than a single, and I need it to be made completely out of rocks, and root ends :p

I picked up one of those air beds on a colapeable frame for me and the girlfriend paid like $80 from walmart and was sceptical....I have used it about 10 times and I cannot belive the comfort!!
It colapses to about the size of four folding chairs. weight cappacity is like 500lbs I belive and the size said queen but I qould size it just bigger than a double.

I also dont know how you or your wife may feel about sleeping in different cots but cabelas has this cot that supports 600lbs so weight is not a issue

Good luck

A setup like this may also be an option

I've been using a Columbia Queen inflateable in our 12 x 14 tent for 2 years now. I sleep like a baby in camp.

I've got two of those inflatable build your own beds "byob's", one queen, and one twin. They fit well in my 10x12 outfitter without crowding the stove, and the queen holds me (260ish lbs) and the Sleeping Dragon (not gonna put her poundage in here on account of it may come back to bite me in the a s s), but I'm pretty sure we tip the scales at a respectable 400+ lbs.

The only thing I found with the air beds is a guy needs to put a hefty layer between him and the bed, otherwise it gets cold. I put down a pair of wool army blankets and an opened sleeping bag, then I put the fitted sheet that comes with the bed over the whole outfit. Even when the temps are reasonable, I have found the bed gets too cold if you don't insulate between the sleeper and the matress.

I may just have to try that :lol::lol::lol:

thank for the input guys. I have heard alot of guys say that they suffer from the cold in the air mattress. If the wife is cold at night she can make a hot summer day seem like -50

Im starting to think bob has a point. lol
