Although it claims it was/is a wild hog, there are no big tusks.
My thoughts are a normal one that has been in the wilds ?

That was on tv last year. they figured the size was exagerated but it still weighed like 800-900 pounds. Taken with a handgun none the less as the story goes.

I watched a documentary on that hog in the photo and it only weighed about 800lbs and it was taken on a fish plantation and they believe it was eating this enhanced fish food that makes the fish grow faster and bigger and thats maybe why it got so large and it was taken with a rifle actually and it was taken in Georgia, and the one you maybe thinking of jrs is this one

But there are reports of a 1,100lb hog taken in Atlanta, here is a link to a video about it

not all pigs have tusks and most wild pigs are domestic pigs that have been loose. It is not entirely uncommon for a pig to get that size in captivity and can do it easily enough given the right environment in the wild.

Javelina are actually not part of the pig family that includes domestic and wild boars but are peccaries. Although often inaccurately called pigs, they are indeed very unique.

Yeah, I heard that they were going to do a movie about that boar and the hunt. It was going to star Kevin Bacon!:rollin
