Taking my nephew fishing for his first time

Hey guys taking my nephew fishing for his first time this weekend had been planning on doing it for awhile my question is where to go for a successful day. I'm thinking either dewitts pond or chestermere lake. Any info would be great ex: lures, bait what works and what doesn't even somewhere else I've missed.thanks in advance

Wherever you go, sunglasses, hat and barbless hooks along with good vigilance will go a long way to ensure a safe and happy outing!:)

Chestermere is full of weeds right now so like the cat said a stocked trout pond might be better suited.
