Hi there, I have been fishing the Bow and surrounding area constantly and love watching the trout take spinners and flies. Although there is no better feeling than a large trout on the end of you line, pike are just so fun to catch, strictly due to the fight. If anyone knows of a place that they've had success and would be willing to share let me know. Cheers

Chestermere is pretty good for pike ... no monsters but still fun.

Is there any shore access or is it mostly by boat?

Limited shore access as the lake is surrounded by houses.. but there is some places to fish ...

Most people fish at the bridge along the main road through chestermere.
Or along the walkway at the boat launch.

If you have access to a canoe or kayak Glenmore has pike small but it also has rumours of large trout. If you extend your travel time there is twin valley , clear badger and keho

I've had lots of success for pike right here in Calgary on the bow (past fish creek). Find some deeper pools and use bigger spinners and crankbaits, they're in there.http://cloud.tapatalk.com/s/578557af64e6f/20160331_152214.jpg

Really? Right in the Calgary city limits? I would have thought they were further east, past Carseland

last float I did on the bow I caught a 7lb pike about 300 yards downstream of policeman's flats. Fish the backwaters

That pic was around deerfoot bridge city limits. People are always surprised to hear that pike are this far north on the bow but I assure you they are. I've caught around 10 this year in that area. No monsters, but all are fat and put up a good fight.

So surprising! I've fished the Bow for so many years without managing to catch a pike around Calgary. I'll have to check this out as I imagine the fight would be incredible especially in the current!

There are some pretty large pike in Pine Coulee, they just aren't the easiest to catch. I've seen monsters in CVR as well.
