Anyone know much about
- fishing Columbia/Shuswap BC rivers in August?
- BC laws re: firearms
- What is Crown and Reserve land?
- I'm open to head North Alberta. (I'm new to Alberta, from South Africa, lived in Vancouver mostly)

Not looking for busy tourist fishing spots, looking for a fishing adventure.

Seems there's a few rivers that lead into large lakes (Mirror and Kinbasket lake). These seem to stick out, unless you have other recommendations.
Looking to leave end of August for 5 days.

Driving a Ford escape 3l V6, towing a john boat, Evinrude 15. Fly and spinning rods. 2 rifles .22(food) and .308 (protection)

Plan is to find free camp spot, launch the boat and power a few km's up river, drift and fish for a few hours. Pull over, set up camp, hike and possibly shoot a bird or a few squirrels for dinner and camp over night. Do it all over again the next day.

Any information is appreciated

small game has different rules in BC . Basically you can't shoot anything if u are from Alberta without a license , lol . The way I read it anyhow .

Thanks. Will take rifles just in case and will research a little more. I'm hoping to find Crown land and camp out there for a few days. Know much about crown land in that area?
