What a beauty of a trip. Here's a shot from the shores of the campsite:

I pulled out my first laker ever on the same trip so not much of an accomplishment there :sHa_sarcasticlol: First guy tipped the scales at ~8.5 lbs. My PB (second one ever) hit the ~10 lb and 30" mark. Super stoked!
We were on Shuswap trolling south of the totem pole NW of Sicamous. 77 FOW for the Laker. Took him on a plain Jane silver Apex behind a Hot Spot (Red) dodger.

Roughly 1.5-2.2 MPH (choppy). The Trolling Plate is a thing of absolute beauty! Very easy to use and sure beats having to install a kicker. BTW i would recommend changing the spark plugs annually if you buy one. I'm sure that trolling fouls them up a bit.

Then came the 'Bow. We were all tangled up as we were trying to change lures. We had 2 rigs pulled up and a third drifting behind us as we approached the bay. The chop was pushing us along at a good clip. Mid-tangle, I looked and the other rod was going nuts. I no sooner saw it dancing when a large Rainbow breached the surface of the water clearly hooked well! I quickly made a grab for the rod (still in holder) and subsequently pulled my two piece in half!!! Oh No! While fumbling to get the thing together my bow broke surface twice with more acrobatics. I knew I was going to lose him! I finally got the rod together and reeled in 15-20' of slack! My heart lept and disappointment set is as I knew he was gonna spit any second. To my surprise and great relief, I felt weight at the end of my line. Fish on! Took a little bit of finessing him in and as he was just about to be scooped by a buddy, he took a sharp turn and missed the net. That Rainbow then had one more trick up his sleeve. He shot straight out of the water and my buddy redeemed himself by catching him MID AIR in the net! We have it all on a GoPro video that we will be posting when he gets back from a wedding. He came in just shy of 26" and hit 6 Lbs.

This was what came out of his belly when I was filleting him. Greedy pig:

The 10# laker got to swim another day. I "tagged" the Bow and previous Laker for some good eats. Here's some scattered shots from the short trip:

We are really starting to learn some great spots and techniques on the 'Shu. There area a couple great guides in the area who have shared their hotspots with us. I will be more than happy to share with anyone who would like a couple pointers on what has become a fantastic fishery.
Thanks for looking:)
