....but I'll maybe leave that for a different thread :scared0018:

What type of bullet did you settle on? I just picked up a 30-06 as well and am debating on what to try first. Have a 308 that likes the cheap stuff (CoreLokts) so just stick with that for all things deer.

Each rifle likes what it likes, so just curious where to start and what you've had luck with so far.

Yea it can be a game of guess and test sometimes...

I chose a 150 gr spbt from speer. I am going to sight in next week and will try to get a picture of the groups

Absolutely, was just poking a little fun at ya.

165gr is what I use to load for all my buddies for an all around bullet
Hornady that is.
Just seemed to always be at or around the inch mark at 100 yards with all types of rifles. Great cartridge.

I have a cheapskate strategy... i looked for the cheapest stuff and see if it works... then i move up from there if i need too.
That's why i picked speer lol :thinking-006:

So here are the results,

The first 4 are up to the left, and after making some adjustments on the scope I started getting closer and closer

125180

Then my friend helped me with a chrony and got some cold bore point range data. First is on the middle, then bottom middle, then bottom right, then bottom left then middle left. (I know kinda random order.)

125178

Now all of these are at 100 yrds.

including these from a mosin-nagant with iron sights. these are just fun :fighting0030:

125179

No order of shots just, was shooting while I let the barrel cool in the 30-06.

As we all recently learned, it's more ethical to pepper them until they stop twitching.

Otherwise, you are just making them suffer if they have a chance to run, after shooting them with your primitive 7' manual action (possibly home made) rifle. :scared:
