While the manufacturers idea of the product is defeated here in Canada, can anyone provide me with the legalities of making my own lower? Is it as simple as giving it a serial number and calling it in to register it?

What is the entire cost after the $250 deposit?
You also need a good source for 80% lowers.
This does not seem like a great tool.
You will need a production license as a gunsmith shop like we have I suspect.
Cool tool though.

The very short version is that you need to develop a prototype of the firearm and then submit it to the Canadian Firearms Lab for testing and classification. There are other regulations in regards to records and markings and it would be a good idea to speak with the Alberta FO designated to monitor business.

Canada does not have the same federal law as the US which allows an individual to make their own firearm. We can do a "build" but it must start with a lab approved receiver. Anything else would be considered an "improvise firearm" under the CC and would be prohibited.

Kinda neat, but I can't see how that little thing could possibly be rigid enough to do a decent job - maybe if it was working in wax.
