Fishing in the boat. Talking with a bud. The topic was giving names to your hotspots on a lake or river.

I imagine that a lot of you do it. Let's hear some of them!!

I'll start.

Cow _hit beach. Looks nice from a half mile away. Not so much from up close.

Saddledome. When I approach this spot, I zero in on the old barn off in the distance. The roof is collapsed, causing it to look somewhat like the Saddledome.

Camp Wagsky. Beautiful camp spot my buddy and i frequent out west. Derived from a combination of his and my last names.

The beaver dam close to camp is Utopia. We named it that because it's utopian fishing :)

Suzukis Hole on Slave Lake. Literally a big hole in the lake where the big walleye stack up in the summer. Named so because my uncle wouldn't stop talking about Dr. Suzuki

We had a few names over the years, some funny, some obscene, some descriptive but one of the latest trends a group of us have is to name the bluff, point, knoll, ridge, humps etc... after the person who holds the record for largest fish at that spot.

Wieler Bluffs, Erikson's Grassy Knoll, Polkosnik Point, etc....

It's always really fun when someone's pride is injured when the renaming ceremony de-throne's their namesake. Texting pictures of the next record along with an audience to witness the de-coronation ceremony with mockery and shame is fun.

The Bone Hole- due to the fact there is often bones from Elk carcass in the river- wolves run them off the cliffs

I will not only tell you about my hot spots but will even guide the trip for only 1,000,000 $ canadian.

A small price to pay for great fishing.

10 year old daughter named one of my favourite humps "The Bank" because it was always money. The name has stuck.

You can't consider Polkosnik Point a hot spot if Bud holds the record!!:scared0018:
