Hey guys, I have a couple of bullets that were reloaded and will not be using. I have no idea what kind of powder it is. I would like to know what is the proper and legal way of disposing of the powder.
Thanks

Fire!!!!!

For the amount you have put it I an ash tray and burn it, do it outside, or use it as fertilizer.

Throw it in the garden

Or a match on a dark night works well

If you don't plan to burn it or use it as fertilizer you can always flush it down the toilet.

Pour it on a block of wood in the shape of your initials or A+J 4-ever (or whichever initials you and your spouse use) and then light it. Burns a neat impression into the wood

Take bullets to the Range and put in one of the red disposal canisters.

To the best of my knowledge there is not a "proper and legal" way of disposal. Powder by itself (properly stored in the original container) while considered to be highly flammable, is not an explosive. For loaded rounds most ranges have a locked container for drop off and disposal.

Option A: pull the bullets and spread on lawn or flush ......... boring.

Option B: pull the bullets, save the powder and take it camping, especially if you have kids. You can find creative ways of safely disposing of the powder AND building street cred as a "cool dad" :sHa_shakeshout:
