So, when does everyone put their boat away for winter?
I usually put mine away in late October. The fishing's pretty good and the lakes are pretty quiet. Hunting completely takes over in November.

Usually mid to late October, depends on the weather forecasts. As soon as the temperature dips below freezing for a good part of the night, I pack it away.

If it gets too hot to hunt then go fishing so it all depends on the weather.

The best month and a half of the entire season is still left!

I usually go till mid October. I don't worry about the odd freezing night since the boat is stored in a heated shop. With an inboard, the winterizing process is a little more than an outboard.

In 2014 it was November 8th, last year November 14th. This year I am hoping to get the kayak out in December!

Many years I have broken ice to get to open water. Heading out in ice fog to fish and the boat and gear covered in frost - love it :sHa_shakeshout:

This time of year presents your best shot at trophy walleye! The hens fatten up preparing for ice over and spawning.
