thought Id check out one of my fall walleye spots this evening, did ok I guess, 9 or 10 walleye and a pike. pike was 8 pounds, all but 2 of the walleye beat that :bad_boys_20:
one of the small (5 pound) walleye spit out a live baby prussian carp about an inch long,, so at least someone is happy they are in the river :angry3:

ended up losing my lure to a beaver, 12 pound test just doesnt stand up to a creature who looked like it was the size of a frikkin grizzly bear! biggest one Ive seen, it hung around all night trying to scare my fish away. these walleye were nuts, they hit so hard you had to keep a tight grip on the rod and it was all I could do to get them to shore on the light gear, but a lot of fun. I even had one hit my lure as I lifted it out of the water at my feet . landed my probably third biggest eye tonight, came out at 13.6 pounds, bet it was full of those damn carp.

The bottom pic is that he hog? Prussian carp ya say? I'll have to remember that next time I'm at the vise, does anyone know if the carp have made it to lethbridge? Anyway nice monster, any idea of length or girth?

Great report! Looks like with the European style forage we might start getting more Zander size like walleye!

It will be interesting to see the effect of Prussian carp on pike and walleye

well I caught a few last night in less than a foot of water :bad_boys_20:
some chased my lure right to the rod tip and I actually hooked an 11 pounder with nothing but the 12 inch leader off the end of the rod, what a rush that was. ended up with 30 to 40 more walleye, (lost count) most over 5 pounds, including another 13 pounder, 2 very fat 20 inch saugers, and a couple pike. nothing like having a 12 pound pike try to rip your rod out of your hand at 1 in the morning when you are half asleep, thought Id finally hooked my 36 inch walleye! never seen walleye this aggressive, chasing the lure right to my feet many times. fortunately my GX2 Uglystick holds up very nicely to these "elusive" fish! fished til 2 am then had a very big heron try and land in my lap, I figured the adrenalyn rush was just what I needed to keep me awake on the long drive home :scared0018:

heron from hell, those things have the ugliest voice in the bird kingdom. especially right in your face in the middle of the night!
