Billfish Tournament

I got the opportunity to assist on a private yacht in a world class Billfish Tournament in Costa Rica this year. The fishing was unbelievable to say the least. The top boat managed to release 18 Marlin on the first day......below are photos from Feb.26-27 th........

All fish were released, none were officially weighted. It was based on a points system, 100 for each Sailfish, and 500 for any Marlin. Most of the Marlin were Stripers (est.150-250 lbs)with the odd Black and Blue thrown in. Wolf packs (3-4 marlin) were hitting the spreads all at once. What a **** show in the boat when that happens. It was pretty exciting to say the least. Just under 400 Marlin were released by the 43 boats over the 3 days........."Let It Ride" won with 9700 pts.
