I'm gunna start a bit of a debate, now I know there is a thousand different possibilities but which 2 rifles would be your top two bush guns. Mine would have to be the Winchester model 94 and a good bolt action 30-06, what do you think?

I never got the "bush gun" thing. Sometimes when I am hunting, I am in the bush, an hour later glassing down cut lines. To me a rifle that can be used confidently in the longest range I am comfortable in cleanly taking an animal with should be the rifle of choice as it can be used in the bush or the open. The same cannot be said for a sausage tossing bush gun.

I have used the same rifle for a number of years now , never had an issue ever with any of my rifles for bush or open country - unless it was an extreme range rifle .
No problem with the 25 yard kill, just glad I didn't have to lug it over 100 yards!!:budo:

I'd choose a Marlin lever in 45/70 and then a Ruger guide rifle in 3006 or 338wm if I was looking for a sole use in the bush.

First choice is my .444 Marlin. Second would be my 1899 in 30-30.

Well because I just got a 375 H&H i'll pick that. 2nd, I'm a big 45-70 fan, so that. But there is so many, 30-30, 44Mag...yelling to scare something, big dog, taking the wife hunting with her talking all the time. Yep change my mind, that would be the best protection against any animal, so that's my first pick.

For all Canadian hunting 444 Marlin with a receiver sight.
For Deer and black bear a Win 94 32 Special (happen to own one) or any 94 cartridge, again with a receiver sight.
