Hit the ice with Buck Krazy for (hopefully not) the last hard water trip of the year.

Oh, and I heard somewhere on AO that if you're about to lose a fish down your hole, swirl your arm around in it so the fish thinks it's swimming upstream...well, for ****s and giggles I did it down one of the empty holes, and look what happened!!

Freshly swirled hole...

Think I got something...

I pulled my tip ups for the rest of the day and walked around swirling my arm down all the free holes. That's how I caught this old girl:

I swirled clockwise...I didn't try swirling counter-clockwise, will have to do that next time I'm out. I'm thinking of making an automatic swirler out of a cordless drill and a fly swatter.

I'm crossing my fingers for a cold week so I have more time out on the hard water.

up north is your best bet for hard water

I'm thinking of making an automatic swirler out of a cordless drill and a fly swatter.

That might be kinda wobbly - I would go for a paint mixer or a beater from a Mix-Master.
Just a thought

Good idea, the Mix-Master could double as a mixer at home, too. I like to bake.
