The VPD put out a video about this. I find it interesting how all the press releases/videos/media in general concerning this only state along the lines of "unwanted, unused, illegal, unregistered, etc" but they clearly leave out "unnecessary" or "not needed".

Great they dont think i should turn in my unnecessary or not needed firearms. Not sure what your point is

Probably not.

I wonder if some personal collections are about to get a lot larger.

The RCMP has trouble managing their own police issued weapons
Also VPD consistently has trouble managing their own issued firearms ,

they possibly hope to get some of their OWN misplaced guns returned by local druggies :)

Maybe its exactly that, a scheme to recover these lost firearms :)
