Went on our first lake trout trip on Saturday. Hoopi and I met up with Kreator for the first time and had a blast. Since Kreator was the youngest we let him catch the biggest trout !!! Thats a full grown yellow lab !!!

What a freakin' blast! I can't thank you guys enough for taking me out there for an experience I'll never forget! Not to mention the fantastic supper. Meeting a couple great guys and catching my first ever Lake Trout was the perfect end to the season for me. Thanks again!!!

Hey Salty Nice fish. I think I was just north of you on the lake Saturday. I also caught a couple lakers and a Ling. Nothing that size though. I was in 90 ft of water. I was back there on Sunday in your spot and had a big one to the bottom of the ice and he spit the hook out. I would think 10-15 lbs. If it was you on the lake you were in 71 ft. There is lots of spots to fish on the lake but with 2 ft of hard crusty snow it was slim pickins. Anyway, there was no fish pulled out of the holes in your spot on Sunday. I hope you marked the spot on your GPS???.

Hey Coyote,
were you the guys in the truck my friend was talking to when I was retrieving our third person on my sled ? We were in 78 to 81 ft in the holes according to my reel counter. Hit most of the trout in the morning before 11:00, couple through out the day. I guess it was beginners luck for us but I will take it.
I will be trying it in my boat after ice out.

No I was in the Red Truck and walked a couple hundred yards in the snow to the East. The fellow that you talked to was also in your spot along with about 6 family and freinds. I was the only one with a sniff. I was using a fish finder as well as the other fellow. It seemed to get 4 ft shallower 40 yards to the east. Yes there was definately more action in the morning. I probably seen a dozen fish all day on the finder until 3:00 but only had the one chase my bate. They just came to look but not eat. If you didn't mark your spot I have the coordinates and will PM them to you if you wish. For next year of course.

The spots on the GPS would be great. I also went for a ride on the sled to chat up a few other guys and got some intel on other places. Directly east of you about 2 miles was two points. In there was 120 ft water. Guys said pretty good area as well. The bay south is suppose to be good for jack and perch.
