Big Lakers - Spray Lake

I have been ice fishing Spray Lake the last 2 years and have caught lots of lake trout but still have yet to caught one more than 3lb. Has anyone caught some big lake trout in Spray? Are they many big lake trout in the lake?

I have seen several over 10 lbs up to about 25 but most are the smaller variety.

I fished Spray a lot this last year. I probably caught in the neighbourhood of 100 lakers or more. NONE were over 4 lbs. 99% were in the 1 1/2 to 2 lb range. Only one was about 3 1/2 lbs.

Have I ever seen a larger one caught? Yes, but they are very few and far between.

spray is not your typical laker fishery, the fish grow very slowly due to lack of nutrients, so even a 4lb laker at spray is quite possibly a 20 year old fish
