Well, last week was brutally cold here in Alberta. And I'm so happy an proud of my wife for her determination to achieve her long time dream. Hunting a cougar is tough enough but at -30 and -40 with wind chills makes it a really challenging event.
She scored with this very nice female, with the help of a truly determined group from Brian and Claudette Chorney of "Big Cat Adventures" from Drayton Valley.
She was over whelmed by their determination to get her a cat which took 6 Days of 5 AM to & 7 PM daily and a lot of the time on the back of quads off-roading.
She is so happy with the Cat and even more happy to thaw out.......
Good job Hun..

Congrats on a Nice Cat. Awesome Hunt in really harsh conditions...that's why they call it Hunten and not shooting.
And many deer, elk and moose also thank you. They now have a better chance of seeing the spring, rather than becoming cougar poop.

Am I allowed to say WOW again? That is a huge lion, esp. for a female. Congrats to your wife. I would not have wanted to be heading out every morning in this weather, and to do it for 6 days in a row would be brutal. Thats a lifetime memory.

Thanx everyone for the nice thoughts an comments.....
The cats tail appears to be shorter then normal, my wife was told that the cat was probably a winter birth, as a kitten the end of the tail probably froze.
Not unlike house/barn cats they breed year around and don't have a typical cycle. Also like regular cats if a new male coming into the area an finds a mom with a new litter he will try an kill them, so she will cycle again an he can then breed her to carry on his life line.
As far as a Big Cat Adventures having a web site, I don't think so but using Google you will find all kinds of info about them. Call them an have a chat
they will be happy to provide answers all about Cat hunting.
