I want to make a set of fur winter mitts with a gauntlet for myself and I need some fur.
Coyote, fox what ever. Even a old sheep skin coat would do.
I'm in Lethbridge

Years ago I bought a sheepskin coat from a thrift shop and used the sleeves to make gauntlet type mitts.

Jim & his wife have done the gun show circuit all over AB, southern SK & BC for years. I've got 6 or 7 pr of bucksin work gloves he's made; really good quality hides and hand stitched gloves at under $50/pr. He can probably make'em for you for not much more than a pelt is going to cost. A relative had him do a pair of chaps a couple years ago for the price of the leftover leather from the deer hide he provided.

Value Village often has a reasonable selection of cheap old fur coats, and there is one in Lethbridge. Tandy Leather is reliable for quality in my limited experience if you don't mind waiting for mail order and you want more selection.

$210
Costs $110 to tan so I think this is a fair price.
I have Fox as well for less...
