Hey guys!

Just wondering what everyone is looking for under the tree this year? I'm looking for a new stand but, as it will be my first, I'm interested in your opinions. It will just be me so I don't need a double and hopefully a lightweight pack in model. Recommendations?

I wanted a Black Lab, and I'm going to pick her up in Saskatoon on the 27th so a little past Christmas but thats my gift to myself. My wife has told me to not buy anything for her, so i'm guessing thats my christmas gifts from her this year haha

I had to get my Chesapeake some booties this year. Sigh, he's getting old and just can't handle the -30 anymore

A marlin guide gun would be awesone but its pretty expensive to ask of anyone else. Socks are always good. Red tag levis are always good. I mean i could list off a page worth of stuff i wouldnt mind getting. The fact remains that the best part will be watching my two little neices running around happier than anything else.

I sent my wife to cabelas on black Friday with a big list I made of specific things that I want and was on sale. Now I wait to see which ones from the list she bought me. :sHa_shakeshout: If I could add one thing to the list it would be a better pair of binoculars. Merry Christmas everybody!

A job

:D

In all seriousness, we're fine for quite a while but looking forward to being employed again. Other than that, I didn't ask for much and we've limited our budget severely. A couple years ago, my wife got me a Sako 7MM RM as a surprise. I basically asked for a book or two and some music this year. I figure they all balance out in the end.

Looking forward to spending time with people we want to be around and enjoying the time away from the grind of daily work as well.

Like always, I have a giant list of things I want for Christmas. But, I really don't care what I get. I just really love spending time with family. Seeing my kids smiling faces is what it's all about.

As a teacher, I see so many kids that have so very little. As well, with so many out of work and hurting, I just didn't feel like asking for anything (though I have many wants). My wife and i have agreed to skip each other this year, and we have made a conscious effort to limit the giving to our kids. As an extended family, we made a decision to forego adult gifts, and instead pool the money at our Christmas Eve get together, and purchase animals for families in developing countries via a well know trusted charity with low administrative costs. Not saying that to come across as high and mighty, it's just I am becoming more acutely aware at how fortunate I am comparatively speaking, and how excessive we can become during this time of year.

I find it hard to come up with a list. Anything inexpensive enough for the boys or wife to buy me, I'd normally just buy it for myself when I want it.

Sometimes I ask for their time. I might ask for a day of fishing, them organizing it, etc. I appreciate that and it doesn't cost them $

Meat grinder, 1.25 to 1.5 HP.

And ya, it's getting fun again, we pick one person to gift in immediate family.
My eldest 2 kids are doing well in their careers, great coin, so I can wish fairly big, ha.

I already know my material presents from my immediate family. They got me an Outdoor Edge replaceable blade knife and one of those gopher calls. That's what I know and that's all I'm hoping for in that regard. Watching my son open his gifts is really all I want on Christmas morning and then to spend Christmas night with my family enjoying a nice dinner.

We've been doing that for the last couple of years and generally try to include my in-laws with us.

Last year for my hubby I bought him some shells and a case of clays with the promise of a day at the range (picnic lunch included)

It is definitely an impressive unit. Take off in under 500 feet loaded up. I've got a few strips it would perform really nicely on ;)

Asked my parents for some duck decoys particularly a mojo. Socks are always great. the best is definitely watching the nieces and nephew opening presents. They appreciate it more than I do now as I don't really care if anyone gets me gifts (if I want something I normally buy it or its too expensive for anyone to buy me). That being said I bought my dad a bunch of duck hunting gear from me and my mum (She got me to do her shopping for him this year.) so the best gift will be hunting a few days with him next year (he works up in ft mac and I live near Calgary and doesn't have as much time to come hunting with me anymore hopefully will make a trip up there to hunt with him).

Update:
Well the best part of today was to dress our 1 month old newborn baby boy in his Christmas outfit and handing him off to his momma to see the smile on her face, then reading his first Xmas card to him. It was very special to spend today with our first born and meeting his grandparents for the first time.

Other than that, I think the wife nailed it with my first tree stand. I'm a pretty happy guy today, and I hope everybody had a great day as well.

Merry Christmas to all.

Well Santa and the wife fell through for me. I guess this is one present I'm going to have to buy myself.

On a brighter note she did get me a new skimmer for behind the sled on the Trapline, so that's a bonus :)
