Ah BB416 your pushing the limits of "the code" amongst hunters with those types of questions. Lets see your camp pics though. I think everybody likes to see camp pictures.

Roebag, nice hunting pic's,my son and i also hunt, let's say the south---------GP area and have been very successfull when it comes to elk,I do believe though the person on the right at the end of the pic.i have seen or met him before on a trail,we have been hunting a location in the GP area since 2000,always the same area, we may be in the same general area so we might meet up this season if you still hunt the area,we are a father and son team and have the exact same quad.

Katts, those are fantastic camp pictures. You guys leave your camp in all season? I think the part I like best is relaxing in camp after a hard days work and talking about the stories that came from it.

roe, the lumber structures are up year round, basically we strip the tarps and tents out and the rest stays. i cant agree more about coming back to a comfortable dry camp, pouring a stiff one and telling the days events. it takes a good 6 hours to set up but well worth it the first night you come back after hunting hard!! take care boys, rob

Katts,

Do you guys cook things in that oven on the chimney.

03-14-2007, 11:36 PM
roe, yes sir. we do lasagna, beef and corn bake, fresh bread, lol. they work awesome, we have been using it for two years now. check out cylinderstoves.com . we are the dealer up here and the oven and the stoves will be on display at the sportsman show this weekend. they also help with a little extra heat once you get all that iron heated up. take care, rob

Hey Rob, I didn't know there was a Cylinder Stove dealer here. I ordered mine a few years ago direct. I might be interested in one of those ovens. These stoves are built to last a lifetime, and the hot water heater works great. I'll get my buddy from the Sawridge booth, Pierre, to check them out at the show. Here are some pics from our fly in moose camp!

BigBull, is that "fly in" moose hunt in alberta. That looks like a great place

Chet, those are great pics. I'd like to do that some day but I'm terrified of horses. Is this your sheep base camp?

strait, i think 61a shot you some info, but give me a shout i can fill you in. i am in stony plain, i do have a couple stoves in stock depending what size you may be after. i prefer to run the biggest one the "yukon outfitter" in a 14 by 16 tent.

Hi Roebag, we are hunting north eastern Alberta, and no, I won't be giving you the coordinates!

Roebag,

We have used that camp for sheep and elk hunting mostly. Over the years we've had the pleasure of skinning the odd moose and wolf in there as well. The chuckwagon is great. It really makes for a comfortable camp and we are able to get back a long ways past the last vehicle of any type. We designed it ourselves and built it with the help of our neighbour who happens to be an excellent welder. It's got disc brakes and everything. There is still a lot of competition from other guys with horses and a few outfitters but at least you never hear an engine except for the odd Helicopter flying around. Here's a couple more pics.

Hey OutdoorChet, I saw a rig like yours at the Rock Lake staging area heading into the Wilmore last fall. Could that have been you? I think it was around
Aug. 26. If so, any luck?

Hi BigBull,

No, that wasn't our chuckwagon at Rock Lake. We typically use it west of Sundre and Rocky Mountain House.

Sigh,Until seeing these pic's,and the poor season i had looking forward to living in the south for so long now has me wishing i was still in the north. What you take for granted when you grow up in a place that has access to almost everywhere in 10-15 min's away.I think i even missed the sudden drop from + 15 to -22 in a weekend camping!
Guess i'm going to start heading further west and a lil north to hunt next year!

I went on my first Hunting Camp Trip in early September of 1983 in the Elk Creek area. An elk hot spot for my dad and his buddies in the 70s and early 80s.

Here's a few pics from that trip

We didn't get an elk this trip but that didn't matter. I was hooked forever into this life stye.
Scanned a few more elk pics

Awesome pics guys. Our camp pics are from our moose camp, as I hunt the elk out my back door so to speak. We been in the same camp for 17 years except for 2001 where we tried a different area further north in the WMU.

These pics are from this past year with the full moon behind.
