Vary nice Moose. You will need a large wall to mount it on.

Those getting animals this size mounted should consider getting at least one Horn pegged. Even if you have the wall space for it, you might not get it to that spot as a single piece.

I just let the taxidermist make the decisions. But feel free to criticize constructively . I'm a good listener and like to learn

The taxidermist offered to make the antlers removable but I chose not to. I can get him through a standard 36" door . But most don't have entry doors that wide so yes it is a good idea.

I like the ears down. Looks like he's thinking about a charge!! "Maybe, I should charge...I dunno, that's a strange lookin' pilgrim..."

Actually, it's been an ongoing thing, for years. I keep threatening to shoot a REALLY big moose and have it mounted.

LKILR, for a moose mount, I like to see the head/body positioned exactly the same as the time of bullet/arrow impact. For me that last pose is a big part of the story. Was only wondering if that was the case in your mount as he does look ready to charge. Nice mount and congrats on shooting a bruiser.

I have to agree. The position of the ears indicates a charge. He did kinda look like this when I shot him. We called him out of the bush into a open creek area. He was aggravated when he came out because he thought we were Gona move in on his cow that was standing by the creek. I let him come up to about 150 yards. He was grunting every step he took. I shot him straight on facing me. 225 grain .338 right through the heart.

If he Wife said it like you said it, then its a "double negative" and you CAN HAVE IT IN THE HOUSE!!

Just have her send me a birthday present for pointing out the obvious. (Just make sure its not full of explosives first!!!)

Merry Christmas!
