Elkwater lake

I am wanting to take my BIL and nephew out to elkwater this week and was wondering if anyone could recommend an area to start? I know there is perch and pike in there so I was hoping to get the little guy onto some fish. Thanks you for any information in advance.

I have never ice fished there, but in the summer I have fished and found pike all over. Fishing out infront of the weeds along the wooden trail along the lake would be a good choice to start and fairly short to walk out with it likely being windy tomorrow. Good Luck!

Managed two smaller jacks out in front of the walkway. Just on a spoon that looked like perch.

How's the ice?

10 to 12 inches. Mostly snow covered but the not covered parts are very clear. Lots of groaning and cracking as it was a warmer day with sun.
