So the other side has 6 points? I count 3 on the shed

Works for me. The shed is a 4 point. Count the browtine on whitetails.

The tip of the main beam is not considered a point so the deer in question is a 3x4 . Cool pic tho

Straight from the Boone & Crocket website: "Beam tip is counted as a point, but not measured as a point"

Whatever helps you sleep at night , the tip is not counted or considered a point, you may want to brush up on your reading comprehension.(Does explain why people shoot small bucks if they think a 3x4 is a 9 pointer)

Oh boy, I'm not sure this is going to end well for you.
But thanks for coming out!

Have a look at the link below. Post #8 is 100% correct!!! Sometimes you need to listen instead of talk (or type in your case).

I don't usually contribute to threads that go sideways but this is too good so I'll give it a bump!

I learned something from this post. I always count the tip when counting points, I thought the trophy guy was referring to the brow tine.

Don't count the tip till you measure main beam.

if you have to explain the point counting theories to a (non-hunter) which one is the easiest for the customer to comprehend
a 5x5 antler set being called a 10 point buck.
a 4 point classification, by not including the G1 or brow tines either.
a 3 point by not counting the G1 or the beam tip
i prefer the 4x4 or 5x4 or 6x8 in other words, the total scoreable points as im seeing it.

counting the beam as point really gets cross threaded when non-typical could possibly have two main beams and such where one beam would be regarded as the 'main beam' and the other would be referred to as a non-typical point(s).
but hey im not a scorer by any stretch.
