Hi all. Thinking of going to Beauvais lake to try some ice fishing this Sunday. I haven't fished there in at least 5 years. Has anyone been out there lately? I know the lake gets fished pretty hard in the summer, but not sure in the winter. I decided to try there mostly because it is a cool spot with perfect scenery. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I've had good luck along the rocks on the far side of the lake. Lots of suckers.

Mostly little gaffers. But I'm sure there's some sizable ones.

Can confirm the large suckers. Bigger than the bows.

Haven't had much luck at Beauvais though I've only fished it twice and both times in mid to late January. Only caught 1 rainbow. I know they're in there though since I've seen the bows and suckers on cam.

I think the best times to hit that lake must be fall/early ice, and spring/after stocking. I tested temps across the lake and the warmest area was 36 Fahrenheit. This is pretty close to the coldest trout can tolerate and would slow them down tremendously. Some areas were as cold as 34 Fahrenheit.

Caught a sucker today about 12 inches. Picky little bugger. Took me a while to get him to commit.
