Just wondering if anyone has any pics/stories of Surf Fish caught while shore fishing in or around Cabos Mexico?

Are group has been Surf fishing the last couple years around San Jose Del Cabo! We've had a blast, we go just about every morning first thing. We found that bottom fishing shrimp worked but we only caught puffer fish, and rays. We have also tried casting swim baits, spoons, and cabo killers into the the boils of fish, but nothing would hit! It is fun and we are still learning. We shore fished mostly infront of Barcelo, Royal Solaris, and Holiday Inn, near San Jose Del Cabo!

Going again February 2017.

We were watching local kids throw crnk baits and lures off the dock at the marina in san jose. They had a bucketful. Looked like cuddas. Beautiful to watch. I only brought some line and and weights and was handlining. So much fun catching puffers and exotics. We also handlined off the rocks off the point in Cabo. Just a little peice of tuna scrap or squid worked really well.

I have found that the pacific side cabo is better for surf fishing the only problem is your dealing with higher surf so it can be dangerous. we typically fish from a boat casting into the shore. Roberto and juan at la mosca are good and fairly reasonable

tight line

I hooked into- and lost multiple skipjacks on my fly rod, (too light of leader...)with minnow patterns, got a couple smaller travellies, and a look down, cant wait to go back!

We have never done any handlining before. Seems like that would be interesting. We plan to shore fish in and around the San Jose marina, as we are staying near by, and plan to book a charter out of that marina as well.

I just took some 10# line. Some sinkers and size 2 hooks. Find an empty bottle when ur down there and go to town. The marina in san jose has scrap bins where they slaughter the fish and you can cut some bait fro. The scraps. Bring your knife. And fish anywhere around the marina. Good luck let me know how it goes.
