Snipe and Sturgeon Lake??

Good day all.

Anyone on here been fishing at snipe or sturgeon recently.
I hang my hat north of Grande Prairie, and the local lakes still have 3ft+ of strong ice.
Perch fishing has been excellent,
lots of good times with my kids and wife.

Going to snipe on saturday, hoping for someone to reply.

I was there last week.. 3ft of ice and drove the truck out, fished the southwest area across from the farm.. just caught small Perch there.. moved to the west side about 300m out and just north of the weed bed. 8ft water and had great action for 30mins and then the whitefish moved in and ruined it all.. it was about 5:30pm so maybe if we stayed longer we could have chased them around but we left instead. good luck!

was out last night and caught a bunch of perch , just
all on the small side. maybe 1 out of 20 a keeper?
landed 11 whitefish and 2 large jacks on tipups at
last light.
seems as the large perch have moved or just quit
biting.

and a 4 wheel drive will probably be a must this
weekend , it was very soft last night and a little
rough going , hard in places and soft in others.
