Hey brothers, so me and the boys been doing pretty good numbers wise on fish here in southern/central alberta, but really looking for some trophy pike in the province, usually use lip less cranks, jigging spoons, treble rigs, pike rigs, quick strike rigs, looking for some tips. Good info (no lake x'ers) might get ya a 60 of rum. Thanks boys

Tip: Go to a well known lake, set up tipups with big bait and wait.
14 inch baits. And wait...
Might only get a couple hits a day but it will be worth it.
Now how do I collect my bottle of rum???

Lots of big pike on Badger. 28 lb'r two years ago. Fish finder is a big help here because it can be quite shallow in places. We usually fish any drop offs. Some channels near the dam on the east side will usually give a few nice ones.. best of luck to ya

What type of fish would you use for bait that is that big? Most things I can find bigger than mackerel look pretty unnatural.

Hey OP
Just search the forum. You'll find the lakes people go to. Most people don't mind sharing a spot or two. Barry Mitchell's fishing guide is a great place to look also. I'm not from your neck of the woods or I would try to help. No rum necessary

There are no legal baits that are 14" that you can buy .
Key word Legal

You can most certainly buy mackerel 14" and bigger at superstore
