I was doing a search and it lead me to a thread that had Dom's Professional Tool Sharpening located in south edmonton, but i called the number and its not in service. not sure if he is still around. but apparently a set of blades was around 5.50 to sharpen.

I would go to R&R sharpening but he's all the way on the west end of Edmonton and i work monday to saturday. so its quite inconvenient. (10 dollars for two blades for my 6 inch finbore hand auger)

Are there any other businesses that we have around edmonton that offer these services. I dont want to buy new blades for half the cost of the hand auger.

Thank you all!

i was debating on that but with one set and i screw it up, i don't want to actually have to buy another set of blades lol or worse yet getting on the ice and realising i'm unable to drill lol

i just don't trust myself.

If you figure out your time/money etc waiting for someone to sharpen them you will wish you just bought new.I have sharpened mine before and they don't last,I used an angle grinder very slowly as to not over heat the blade as well. Its very easy to sharpen them.Try sharpening them yourself and buy a new set that you can return with a receipt if it works. This way its not a wasted trip to the lake.

5 " flap disc 240 grit wont over heat edge if your careful... most blades concave ground so you need not get aggressive or the angle will be too steep...

Buy a new set then keep your others as a spare.

The extra 30 some bucks is worth the time and hassle and from what I understand it is almost impossible to get a good sharpening on these curved blades(both finn bore and strikemaster).

Otherwise a quick google shows a couple saw sharpening places close to south side, try phoning them and if you do get someone to sharpen them update us if it works decent cause I haven't heard good things.
