Ice conditions on lake newell

Looking for some open water to put the boat in, would love to get my boy into some big pike, can anybody tell me how were doing out there?

I just made a run over after work to check it out. Dont get your shorts in a knot about loading the boat just yet, she is completely iced over still,,, rotten as heck, but still holding on. I thought the 50 mile per hour wind we had here woulda blown her free, but as usual, shes the last one to clear off in this neck of the woods. Sides are freed up abit and the draws are open some though. Could be launchin a small 12 foot from shore, but you wont have much water to play with just yet. Soon, very soon.;)

Thanks packhunter, think my partner has the boat about 12 inches away from hookup, he is about as ready to put that boat in as the rest of us!

Took this at 5 pm today, even a couple "brave" souls out icefishing. doubt the ice will last long tho, but who knows.
