There is absolutely nothing in the world like topwater smallmouth bass fishing. Just the best. Even Silver Bass (Freshwater Drum/Sheepshead) and White Bass are fantastic fishing.

Silver bass and white bass are the same fish ...freshwater drum and sheepshead are not silver bass ...unless you are from manatoba for some reason. ..lol but you are right they are a blast to catch and eat.

Great footage on the vid. Reminds me of a great white and a seal.
At least there are bass close by in BC. Good enough reason to take a short holiday. Invermere lake has largemouth bass. 3 hours from Calgary. A few hours further and Vaseaux lake by Penticton is a premier bass lake.

Alberta did try stocking bass a few times even going back to the 1930's. They tried stocking bass in a few lakes around central alberta. If I remember right even lakes like Pigeon and Gull.

I actually meant Windermere lake by Invermere. The south end of the lake is supposed to be good for bass.

The grass is always greener on the other side.

I spend a week per year (haven't made the trip for the last two years, unfortunately) at an outpost lake in northwestern Ontario that is absolutely full of smallmouth bass. I have an absolute riot fishing for them from morning until evening, but the real fun comes in the evening when the big walleye come out :sHa_shakeshout:

Likely one of the only things I miss about Ontario is the fishing.
