Spey casting ?

A few years back I had alot of fun flyfishing Northern's on a cheap 8wt fly rod and some old clouser minnow flies. I've heard about Spey casting, but know nothing about the rods, line, etc. Is there anyone out there who could shed some light as to what setup might siut me (eg. rod length, line weight in grs. etc.) ? It would primarilly be for salmon on the Fraser and Skeena, with the odd pike day as well. Does a 14' rod, 9/10 wt sound in the park ? What is the line weight in grains all about ?
