Wife's family lives in Osoyoos and was asked to come up and do some fishing in their boat in June. Funny part is they do not fish !
They do have a down rigger on the as it came with one when they bought it.
Can anyone tell me whats in the lake for type of fish.
I am hopping there are Lakers .

Rainbows, Large and smallmouth, crappie, pikeminnows(squawfish), pumpkinseed,Kokanee, carp, bullhead catfish and a sockeye run if you time it right.

So how deep do you go for rainbows and whats the best hook ...Apex ?

All the classic BC lake hooks work for rainbows but there is more weed growth than many of the other lakes so floating weeds do clog your line. Check your hooks more often than you would in Kootenay or Shuswap.
