Tofino - shore fishing

Will be in Tofino May 21-23 and was wondering what the fishing from shore is like. Is there a place to rent tackle?

Tofino isn't a great place to shore fish and even the inside waters aren't even that great for Salmon fishing. I've tried off the rocks by the light house in Ucluelet and caught nothing.

I agree with SafetyD... you're already there might as well go out with a guide for a few hours. No places exist to rent fishing tackle that I'm aware of out there. Most people have their own or go with guides.
