Glenmore Reservoir day 1 - Anyone head out?

I can't make it out there till Sunday at the earliest.

Someone on twitter tonight mentioned seeing at least a dozen people fishing it today. Anyone have any luck on the first day of the season?

Got a Brown trout in the 40cm. range. and a pike about 2 lbs, but lost a better trout right near shore. So, a pretty decent day for that place. Many, many fishermen were out.

I'm new to fishing the resovoir. I went out for 3 hours on the north side and not a bite. Going to try south side later this week. Any tips on tackle?

We were out in our yaks on Monday, we got a few but was slow. A lot of people fishing from shore in the usual places.
Was a beautiful day on the water.

I am heading out Sunday. :-)

Between my son and I we put 10 pike in the yaks yesterday . The most consistent spot we have found is the edge of the old river channel by the floating dock. But other than that fish are spread thin all around. Just about anywhere can hold 1 it's fan cast move 20 yards and fan cast, repeat.

We have yet to catch a trout.
