Good morning everyone. I'm going to start reloading 7mm08. I've read most people are a fan of the 140gr loads. I'll be shooting deer and elk. Most likely in the 100-300 yard range. Any experience with this round please let me know. Any preference powder or bullet would also be appreciated.
Thanks all.

I always shot the 139gr. Hornady SST's and had good luck. I see now that they make a 150gr. ELD-X. If I were going to shoot a 7mm-08 again I would probably give those a go. I love the ELD-X bullets in my 300wm, they're very accurate and have good expansion.

I like Barnes and start there, but sometimes the rifle just wont shoot them.
I have had good success with my sons rifle rifle with 120 TTSX and H4895
I no longer have it but my last 7-08 in a win. featherlight liked the 140 TTSX and H4350

I tried 130 Speer boattails in my sons rifle and seriously wondered if the scope was hooped with a 6 inch group when it had previously shot 1 1/2 with the Barnes load the previous load development.

Your rifle will let you know what it likes. Shoot lots and find out.:sHa_shakeshout:

Great caliber. I've had good luck and accuracy with Hornady 139 grain interlocks used with IMR 4350.

I've had good luck with 139gr Hornady Interlocks and IMR4350. And stellar results with 120 gr Sierra ProHunters and H380. Varget has also worked well for me in a couple of my 7-08's. :)

I don't remember my exact amount but I was shooting 140gr Accubonds and Varget at about 2800 fps. Awesome combo, shot my first bear at 220yds with it and a big bodied whitetail. Both one shot kills.

Loads of 110 to 160, partition, accubond, tsx, ttsx. Currently loading the ttsx 110 gr., should fly at nearly 3000. Mostly varget.

With a 140 bullet , 44.0 -47.0 gr of Ramshot BigGame does an admirable job for the 7mm-08 with both accuracy and velocity. It's a very versatile powder from my experiences with several different cartridges. Unfortunate our local dealers don't stock it.

Alright. So going to start with Nosler Partition 140gr bullet, Varget powder, and Hornady brass. Thanks for all the input. Hopefully get some rounds developed in the next few weeks here.
