I have my eye on a rifle. It is chambered in 6.5 CM. It comes with a factory 28" barrel.
I am looking to see if anyone has had any experience with a 28" tube in that cartridge. I reload so I am not worried about factory ammo not performing. I'm more looking to see if anyone has reloaded for the CM in that barrel length.

Never the 6.5CM, but I have owned and / or shoot many rifles with 30" barrels in .260 REM, 6.5X47, 6.5X55, 6.5SAUM, 6.5WSSMM and 6.5WSM.

Anytime the proper 6.5 bullet is sent out of a well built rifle with a 30" barrel, between 2,950 and 3,100 FPS small groups or dead critters out to very long range is the result!:)

Thanks Cat. I was kind of wondering what velocity I would get. QuickLoad doesn't have that cartridge case to play with. Hornady says 2700ish with a 24" barrel I believe. I was hoping to maybe get 2800-2900. I would be likely shooting the 143 ELD-X if the gun likes them.

If anyone has a new version of QuikLoad that has the CM case in it I'd Love to hear from you. My version is too old I guess.

I shoot a 6.5 CM browning x bolt target with a 28 " heavy barrel.
40 grs of imr 4350 gets 2660 fps with a 139 gr lapua scenar.
It shoots very well out to 1200 yards, sometimes 1/2 moa(no wind) but usally moa for 3 shots if I can get them shot fast enough before wind changes.
It stays 1/2 moa or a little better at 100.

Thanks for the replies and PMs. I should have enough to go on.
