That's great, looked like a nice day to be out fishing rather than skiing:) We have a place at the end of Mara by the river. Have had some luck for Springs late summer past the narrows (looks like you started there then went towards Margaret falls). I love that area, it's such a gem. Thanks for sharing...

Hands down my favourite place to fish ever. Love that lake. I was supposed to be there this weekend but plans crashed and burned. Be back late summer.

Nice video(s). My first boat was 14' SSV, landed many fish in that machine, some great trips. Almost bought a 16'...Still miss it.

fishing has been getting better and better every day. It's nice to live on such a great body of water.

As for the ssv, I'm like everyone else, wish I had the $100,000 offshore fishing rig, but not enough jelly beans in the jar for that so I slowly rigger up the lund to fish like a bigger boat.

Deanna, we have spent more time on arrow as the fishing has been really good there the last couple of years. We had a few 15-20 fish days with the average bow in the 6 pound range and the largest just over 10.

Fishing has been tough the last few days as the debris from the couple mudslides is scattered everywhere, but when you can get into a clear patch they are hitting pretty hard!

Hope I`m not giving away any of your spots! Been trying to keep it low key on where I`m at....... Easy to figure out if you know the lake though....

Fishing has been hit or miss the last while. Not too many boats out fishing at all..... Even the weekend warriors have given up on the well known hot spots. The easy flyfishing has not been so easy with the high water and low salmon run from last year.

Another couple of weeks and all the crazies will be out on the water. :angry3:

LOK. Quick question. You have mentioned a weak salmon run last year a couple times linked to bad fishing. Are you saying normal feeding areas are not productive, or the fish have changed their feeding habits to other sources, meaning fish are more dispersed and harder to find? I would think a lack of spawn would result in more aggressive fish on similar food sources (lures, et). Definatley will affect health, but the bite? Unless of course they just die off. Hope that is not occurring.

I'm no expert so this is just my observations...

The typical areas where the rainbows feed on salmon fry, the average size of fish is way down. Long skinny and lethargic. Not aggressive at all. The fish have been harder to find and picky on what they will hit.

Brian Chan has a few videos on the lake where they talk about the fish switching over to bugs in poor salmon years.

Last year was the low in the 4 year cycle so it's no real surprise.......
